The most famous beaches near the city are those of St. Hermogenes and Charamida which lies south, Varia's beach to the airport and Tsamakia beach below the castle.
The best known museums of the city are the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Theophilos, the Museum of Modern Art and the Byzantine Museum...
Mytilene is famous for its architecture. Many neoclassical buildings adorn the city with rhythmic of Belle Epoque, Rococo, Baroque, etc.
